Notes
- Bricsys® Network License Server is a standalone software component normally deployed inside a company's network to host floating licenses issued by the Bricsys software vendor. It's expected to be used by system or network administrators to manage the usage of floating licenses.
- Bricsys Network License Server V1.0 supports network licenses issued for recent versions of Bricsys software products, like BricsCAD®
or Communicator for BricsCAD® (it is also compatible with the network licenses issued for previous versions of these products, until V14).

Key features
-
RLM framework
To protect the intellectual property embedded in its software, Bricsys uses the RLM framework from the Reprise technology provider.
The new version of Bricsys Network License Server is powered by a recent version of RLM framework (V15.2).
-
Web Server
A new web server (Mongoose) was introduced in the recent version of RLM framework.
That change improved the following security aspects:
- Web server requires a login procedure to access its web interface.
- Passwords for accessing its web interface are case-sensitive.
- The web interface
supports HTTPS protocol.
-
Bricsys Network License Manager®
Bricsys Network License Manager is an add-on for RLM framework, developed by Bricsys to let a customer activate and update their floating licenses. The add-on has a graphical user interface which allows a user to manage their floating licenses hosted on a License Server: the user can see them, update them, and add new ones. The interface will also give that user a clear indication which of their licenses can be updated and which of them cannot.

Known limitations
The following known limitations are identified in this release:
- When upgrading from the old versions of RLM framework (14.2 and earlier), the old .PW files are no longer valid. To fix this, a user must delete the old .PW file and create a new one.
- Bricsys Network License Manager does not support updating licenses that are manually merged into one complex file; it supports default setup: one Bricsys software license per file.
- Bricsys Network License Manager does not support viewing, controlling, or updating licenses that are organized in network license pools. This can be done by manually adding Bricsys Network License Manager system account as a user to those network pools to be managed.
